Break glass in buses is usually made from toughened glass. As the name suggests, this is very strong - so much so that it is virtually impossible to break without tools. This renders the emergency equipment it houses virtually inaccessible and therefore useless.

Safeglass® is formulated so that it can be broken making the equipment accessible. It can be used for hammer boxes, fire extinguishers and first aid boxes.

Safeglass® has been given approval for use on PSVs by the Department of Transport.
